Back at the end of July I ordered a small stepladder for my elderly mother using her bank card and delivery address but my contact tel number. A few weeks later got a phone call ref said ladder, so assumed I was speaking to Easylife. The person then started talking about some car club scheme and asked for my details, make of car, reg no etc. Didn't feel comfortable so I literally terminated the call. Fast forward to this week when my mother noticed Easylife had taken another £59.99 from her account. Rang Easylife and after investigating was told it had nothing to do with them but a different company (although on the bank statement it clearly says Easylife)! Was given another tel number who I contacted and was informed that I had subscribed for a year to a car club because I hadn't cancelled after 10 days! I had not agreed to anything. Total scam and surely against the Data Protection Laws to pass on peoples bank details to another company (or is it another part of Easylife)?
Promised to be refunded within 7 to 14 days, but will not hold my breath. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE, or Covid!
