Never book with third party websites like Economy bookings. I turned up to Verona having paid £550 for a rental car already and was made to pay a further £550 as I had misplaced my drivers licence on the way. We said that my wife could be the driver (same surname) as she had her licence but Europa car said that if we had booked directly with them this would have been possible (they could have cancelled the booking under my name and put it under my wife's name) without paying the amount again, but as we had booked with economy bookings we would have to pay again. Europa cars confirmed they have not taken any money from economy bookings and have cancelled the invoice (I have email evidence) so will never be taking any money from them. I rang and then emailed economy bookings and they said that despite not having to pay europa cars they will keep the money and not refund me as I didn't turn up with my drivers licence (despite the fact that my wife did and we ended up taking the same car we had booked originally - and ended up paying a total of £1100 for it!) So never use third party websites to make a booking especially not economy bookings- use them to find out whats available then book directly. So in summary they are pocketing £550 knowing they are not going to pay Europa cars for the rental
