**Avoid Ecotricity at all costs!**
The cost of their plans are absolutely extortionate. Go somewhere else! Don't even bother getting a quote. They can't compete. Their customer service is absolutely shocking and their mobile app is absolutely useless. I cannot stress the need to avoid this company.
I left Ecotricity a year ago (2020) and in June 2021 I received a letter through my letterbox telling me I needed to pay £220? This was the first time I'd heard of this.
I immediately contacted their credit support team asking for verification of how I'd managed to be slapped with this bill this late on into the contract ending. I received a reply saying this was my final invoice. I subsequently asked them to verify to me how I'd manage to wrack up a bill so high and how I'd only received this a whole year later? They are yet to reply back.
Months pass, still no reply, then all of a sudden I then started receiving texts and calls from an agency called ACS, who firstly, I had no idea who they are, I didn't consent to sharing my data with them; then all of sudden I find out they're a company called 'Advanced Collection Systems' and I'd been put on their collections roll by Ecotricity? Can you believe it? I emailed Ecotricity's credit support team, got no reply, and then instead of getting back to me so I could set up a payment plan (if the outstanding amount was correct) they've just forwarded my details to a collections agency!
Now, despite me reaching out, they've now got the gaul to charge me late fees! Nearly £50's worth! YOU IGNORED ME!? Of course, I was told that if I coughed up the full amount all at once i wouldn't have to pay the fees, but if I wanted to set up a payment plan I WOULD have to pay the fees. It's a F**KING joke!
Absolutely shocking! Cannot believe a company can operate like this in 2021.
If this is the price of Green energy, I'm not interested. The sooner this company goes bust the better.
