Danish got me through a horrific and difficult time. He is so authentic and vulnerable, which helped me grow those parts of myself through our sessions. I had the painful displeasure of being discarded and divorced by a covert narcissist, and all of the gaslighting, devaluation, physical ailments, self doubt, and crazy-making that went along with that. Danish helped me recover a sense of both reality and myself, and made me understand that empathy and a wiring to love and serve unconditionally are not codependency or weakness - but strength to be shared with someone who will value those gifts and reciprocate. He talked me out of having a “hopeless hope” that I could somehow save her from her darkness. Because of his counsel, I was in a place to identify the real thing when my soulmate stumbled into my life. I still carry scars, and I always will. But taking it “there,” so did Jesus when Thomas said He wouldn’t believe the Good News if he couldn’t touch and interact with the scars in Christ’s hands and side. My scars don’t hurt like they did, and I am now equipped for those scars to tell a story of good news for people who need to see them to believe that beauty does indeed come from ashes.
