I've recently bought four Stihl battery-operated products after more than 20 years of great service from my gas-powered lawn and garden equipment. I took advantage of the summer deal on three items (hand pruner saw, electric hand trimmer and battery-powered vacuum) which I bought directly from Stilh Canada and which arrived promptly by courier. Excellent website, which made the initial pirchase and special bonus item redemption bery quick and easy. I am impressed with the performance of every one of these products and find myself using them far more than I had expected. My other purchase was a larger battery-powered string trimmer from a local dealer in Victoria on Government street. The staff were friendly and helpful and after a bit of a wait (I thought they may be having difficulty in finding the unit - which was the last one of its model left) the counter person returned with the unit fully assembled and ready to go. I wasn't expecting that but was cheerfully told "That's all part of the service". No fumbling and fiddling at home on assembly and no cardboard box to dispose of. When I was also looking for a shoulder strap they got one and fitted that to the unit as well (they took pains to find the balance point on the trimmer shaft!). Great service and support and Shihl's excellent product design, build quality and built-in easy and effective safety features.
