This was a first 'inter-railing' trip, being in my 40's I was a bit uncertain as to what to expect. Booking was easy with Euroventure, the train tickets arrived in the form of a travel information pack a few weeks before the trip started. The pack included a booklet that had a step by step guide with regards to getting from hostel to hostel by tram/tube etc. The guide was flawless and got me from place to place easily. I found the hostels clean, comfortable and full of friendly staff and fellow travelers. If you have the right attitude that you are not in a single room hotel and like to mix in then you'll be fine. I just completed the 'Iron Curtain' 1 week trip and i'll be undertaking a 2 week trip in 2017 I enjoyed it so much. Safe and happy travels.
