It was my daughter (19) who decided to book a holiday with Euroventure Travel but as it was a company I (66) had never heard of, I was a bit dubious but agreed to go along with her for company. My fears were completely unfounded as they were very helpful in their head office and every time we changed our itinerary Michael obligingly altered our quotation. Eventually we made up our minds where to go and there were only a few variations from one of their standard routes. The information pack and the all important Inter-rail tickets arrived in plenty of time which allowed us to study the stop-over cities via Google and build up our own tour requirements. At my age hostels were out of the question so Euroventure booked us into hotels which were all of very good quality (3* and 4*) and generally good locations except one which was a long way from a city centre but public transport was very close. Some hotels were even out of my normal budget range and too good for us as we were effectively "back-packers". There were a couple of hiccups, firstly our train from Paris to Zurich was cancelled (French driver's strike) and the emergency phone to Euroventure did not work but that has now been fixed. We managed to seek our own solution to that problem. Secondly their instructions for the train from Berlin to Hamburg sent us to the wrong main-line station, but as we were quite early we had time to get back to the correct station just in time. Apart from those issues all went according to plan and we both had a great time exploring some of Europe's major cities but we did learn that just two nights in any one town is not enough, three nights would have been much better.
