I can only say that the services provided by you and your team have opened a window to the past and, in doing so, have also added a new dimension to our personal histories. You have given ordinary folks a tool which, if used properly, can restore their pasts in a way that no traditional or conventional painting can ever do. From only a faded black and white photograph, you can bring our forebearers and old memories into sharp focus as real, breathing people as if they were here only yesterday. It's not a case of distorting history or the truth if one doesn't misuse it. It merely takes modern digital technology to provide a degree of accuracy unavailable back in the day. This is basically what repeaters do on a long-distance telephone line, continuously restoring the signal's clarity so that it sounds like it came from next door. In other words, what you do brings the distant past close to us. Fifty years ago, Anne Murray came out with a song which I believe is quite appropriate. It's titled, "When Everything Old Is New Again". And as an old man, there is no greater pleasure than showing proof that he was once a young one.
