I have been with Freedom Brokers for many years. I'm a business owner, and I have multiple active policies. Some months back, I received a phone call about a renewal for a van I owned. I told the team member not to renew the policy as I was due to sell the van the following week and that I would be in touch shortly to insure another new vehicle. I also logged into online and turned off auto-renew for all my policies.
I thought this would be the end of it. However, they renewed the policy for the vehicle I no longer owned. I phoned up immediately and reminded them I did not want to renew the policy and asked them to cancel it immediately. I was told there would be no fee.
I then received an email saying I owed a cancellation fee. I called up the Indian call center again and explained that I originally asked for my policy not to be renewed before the renewal date. They did not trust me and listened to recorded phone calls. They then asked me to send proof that I had sold my vehicle, which I did.
Today, I have had an email from their debt collection agency insisting I pay the fee. I'm now going to pay the fee and cancel all my policies with Freedom Brokers and stay clear of them in the future.
