Gameflip has the WORST costumer service I have ever experienced and horrible policies that allowed me to be blatantly scammed out of a huge chunk of money.
I only began selling very recently and Had someone contact me asking to buy a A lot of very expensive In game items And specifically requested that I agree to give them to her within 24 hours. I wrongly trusted that Gameflip would keep me protected, so I went ahead and made the deal.
After the sale went through, I immediately began trying to coordinate transfer within the game Only to have absolutely no answer for hours and hours. I finally heard back from this girl around 2 o’clock in the morning my time. I was asleep. I began Attempting to contact her At about 8 AM my time only to not hear from her until 5 PM. At this point, I had passed the 24 hour mark that I had agreed to, but that was absolutely not my fault. I tried multiple times to coordinate the transfer.
In the meantime, I had been receiving notifications from Gameflip, reminding me to coordinate the transfer or else the order would be canceled. So when this person finally came on at 5 PM my time, I immediately hopped on the game and transferred the items to her… Only to have her immediately cancel the order before I could even get off the game and onto the Gameflip app. I was shocked and horrified to say the least. I immediately tried to contact Customer service only to find out there’s no phone number And no live chat option… So absolutely no way to reach someone immediately. I put in a ticket request, and after a few days I heard back and their solution was for me to create a new listing for the buyer to buy.
What a joke…. Like a scammer is going to repurchase some thing they scammed me out of? I waited for days and days to hear back from them and finally heard back from them on Friday when they informed me they had never heard back from the buyer (Surprise surprise…) And could not give me my money because I had not marked the sale as delivered. I would love to know when I was supposed to do that????? She canceled the order before I could even get back on the app to do that. And once she canceled, there was absolutely no way for me to state that I had delivered the items. They took away. Any chance I had doing anything about it. I have undeniable proof that I traded her at the items and undeniable proof that she kept me waiting Past the 24 hour mark, and that I tried multiple times to coordinate with her.
The fact that they allow a cancellation in that manner is horrible. In my attempt to get help with the situation, I found other people who have experienced the same thing… So clearly this is not a new scam and yet they’re doing nothing about it.
I used the Gameflip platform because I thought that they would have my back and I wouldn’t be able to be scammed…. But now I no longer have the items or the hundreds of dollars that I was selling them for… These were super high value items that cost a fortune.
As far as I am concerned, Gameflip has cheated me out of money I was owed, and I am seriously considering taking legal action.
This cancellation policy that allows scammers to take advantage of people should not exist and Gameflip to take responsibility for their flawed policies and give me my money.
I hope people take this as caution and use a different site to sell and buy related items. Gameflip is not worth the risk.
I am a single mom and I was only selling those items to try And have enough money to cover bills during hard times. And Gameflip has Made my life even harder now.
