Motorcycle insurance.I received a paper renewal notice a few weeks before renewal date quoting around £197. Afew days later I received a second letter quoting around £320!When I rang and spoke to a human she quoted me around £160. This was pleasing to my ears but also raised concerns about the previous quotes. I had set up a continuing direct debit the previous year. Could the raising of the premium as renewal time came closer be a deliberate attempt to boost profits by hoping I would just let the direct debit accept the larger amount? I find this hard to believe but can think of no other explanation for the varying prices I was quoted.However in the end I was happy with £160 something for two large motorcycles.
