Budget insured my van last year for £282.99, this year, although I did not ask them to, they did it for £527.99. When I told them I could get it for £304, the dropped it to £320, I said "if you can do it for £304, I'll stay. They could not, so they are charging me £38 for going elsewhere.
I have informed my bank and I will fight to avoid this on principle. How can they drop £207 in an instant without the first quote being a rip-off, Rhetorical question, and then charge for going to a more competitive insurer?
