I took out insurance with Budget on my car 2 days before Valentine's Day and paid the first payment as I pay monthly. The cover was due to start on 24th Feb.
I had a massive surprise on Valentine's Day when my fiancé told me he'd bought me a new car! I had absolutely no idea he was going to do this.
When I searched for quotes on my new car, I found that Diamond was the best deal and went with them.
When I phoned Budget to cancel my policy that hadn't yet started I was told that on top of the £16 I had already paid, I needed to pay £22 to pay the cancellation fee. I said but the policy hasn't started yet?! She said that it was admin fees. After arguing over it and not getting anywhere, I reluctantly agreed to pay it. Absolutely disgusting!
