House insurance.
The short of it... we are very impressed.
We took out a policy with John Lewis as we were happy to pay a bit extra to have that confidence that if an issue arose it would be handled better. During a recent storm the top of our roof was damaged. We called up John Lewis and we didn't even have to wait on hold! It went straight though to a real person (which I'm still shocked about). They took a few details and said someone would be in touch in 48 hours. We actually had a call that same afternoon and had an appointment booked for someone to come and view the damage within a couple of days. The inspector agreed it was all storm damage and immediately approved the claim and within the week we received a cheque to cover the cost to repair. I am also very happy that we get to choose our own builders instead of using theirs because we have a builder we've used in the past and have been very happy with. This way the cost was covered but we're also free to chose who we want to complete the work!
Overall very happy and relieved that we were able to claim on our insurance and the process went surprisingly stree-free. We will definitely be renewing with John Lewis for future years to come.
