My 13yr old son paid £12 for a bunch of flowers for Mothering Sunday. The quality was really poor and all but one of the Lilly heads has shrivelled and turned brown, so they won’t be opening. There were only 3 stems with 11 buds. The leaves are also yellow. Tesco and Asda sell lovely lilies at just £6 and you get high quality FRESH flowers that last well over the 5 days equally suggested by M&S. Same conditions as always, away from sunlight, not in a hot room or near a draft, the same as I would with Tesco or Asda flowers. Cut perfectly and placed in plant food. What on earth has happened to M&S quality standards? The M&S flowers were meant to be a premium treat instead they were a disappointment. Such a shame. I can see from reviews that I wasn’t alone. However, the Belgium dusted truffles went down a treat. Also, the £25 meal deal of roast beef, roast potatoes and apple pie was great, even if I had to oversee the cooking. There are more important things to worry about in life but when I see others can’t see their parent & the flowers were meant to make up for this, I can only guess M&S were a bit stretched to meet demand and their standards slipped, which has left many upset customers and recipients. I personally won’t be buying M&S flowers and next time he’ll buy from Asda or Tesco if he buys flowers again.
