Trevor
I bought another Motorcycle, and wished to add it to a current policy but the Insurers I was using, both Bennetts and CIA wanted to cancel my current policy, charge me for doing it and then offered me ridiculous premiums to have a multi bike policy. Carol Nash wanted to charge me £1290... Now based on the fact I have 44 years worth of NCB, can only ride one bike at once, don't have any other named riders on my policy and have done all the training I can, plus I commute on a bike I foind the £1290 from CN, the £690 from Bennetts and the £800 from CIA to be a touch salty if I'm honest. So I looked online. MCE weren't the cheapest, and the compulsory excess was way too high given my experience but it was still cheaper to start a new policy with zero NCB for a bike worth £7500 with 20,000 miles agreed mileage on it with MCE. So that's why I took it on. Bit suprised they didn't offer legal cover though? However: I do have a friend who has had a very bad experience with them regarding his recent "off" in Central London, basically they refused to pay out, and I took this into consideration. But I don't plan to be needing them for that anyway. But yes. Happy enough to pay the premium at less than half what my other insurers wanted to stitch me up for. Don't they ever learn that come renewal time I will move my custom to someone else because of this experience?
