Would give 0 stars if possible.
This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. The communication within the company is appalling and it seems there is a massive lack of training within the company.
I was involved in a minor accident 4th August 2020 where a van went into the back of me at approx 10-20 mph. The damage was minor, causing a scuff and dent to my rear bumper.
Sheilas wheels suggested a garage in my local area which only had 1 star out of 5 in their reviews, so I asked if I could have a different garage. This was agreed.
On the day my car was collected, it was taken by the wrong garage! I only realised when the correct garage turned up half an hour later to collect my car which had already been taken!
When it came to getting my car back, I was not communicated with at all through the process and had to chase updates with my car (however I was getting updates about other people’s vehicles!). Eventually I was told to go and collect the car from the garage myself which was a 45 min drive from me. As I had my MOT booked in for the previous day, I agreed and drove to collect the vehicle.
On inspection of the vehicle, I had to question what work they had done on it after having it for 2 weeks as it was still scuffed, dented and the boot wasn't even in line! So I refused to take the vehicle until these repairs had been done.
Another few weeks passed and it was finally time to get my car back. There was no communication with the process. I asked the insurance to give me a time of day my car will be dropped off as I was WFH so had to plan around it. No one got in touch with me with a time so when they showed up to drop my vehicle off, I was busy and unable to get the car back. They only called me twice before parking my car across the street on the main road (I have a drive), posted my key through the letter box and signed the documents all themselves so I was unable to inspect and accept the vehicle back.
On inspection this time, I could see new damage on my car. It was now dented in new places on the rear bumper, I had dry pain on my side panels and a massive scuff on my driver’s side, front wheel arch!
*All parties have denied causing the damage to the wheel arch, but you can see from the document I signed when the incorrect garage took my car, this scuff was not there when they took my car from my care.*
When I rang the insurance to tell them of my experience, they seemed at first like the wanted to help and ensured me I would not go back to that garage and I will get to choose my own garage or take my car to Audi to get repaired.
Of course, this was not the case. I was informed at this point that it will take me a long time to go to my own garage and it will be quicker to go back to Grovers. So I compromised and agreed to go back to this garage for a 3rd time but this time with Sheila’s Wheels independent inspectors, Branwells, being involved.
So before my car went back to Grovers, someone from the garage and Branwells came to my house to inspect my car and see what needed to be done to it. It was agreed then that the whole of the rear bumper will be replaced, the dry paint on the side panels will be blended in, and that someone from Branwells will inspect and sign my car off before it is returned to me.
A day after Grovers took my car in to have this done, I was called to say it was completed. I was shocked, how could all of this work be done in 1 day?! But when I questioned Grovers to ask if Branwells had signed it off, they said they didn't know about this. So 10 days later, my car was finally signed off!
On return, this time someone made sure I was available to check the car over (finally) however, on inspection this time, the car looked worse than when it went to them the first time! The paint colour wasn't the same as the rest of my car, half of the bumper was gloss and the other half was Matte, they had broken the plastic trim in my boot, the bumper was still dented and all the paintwork had an 'orange peel' effect! I told them there was no way I was accepting the car in this state. The driver then called his office who he put on speaker, and they were very rude! They refused to have anything else to do with my car and said 'leave her with the car, make sure you take the courtesy car off her or she'll pay for it all'.
At this point, I called the insurance who said they will deal with it all, but Grovers were still refusing to have anything else to do with my car.
Sheilas Wheels then asked me to go to Audi themselves and get an estimate so they could get this sorted.
When I went to Audi, they informed me that no new bumper had ever been put on the car! And that the bumper had never even been taken off the car, they had done all the work with it still on my car and put masking tape around it to paint it (this would be where the dry paint on my side panels have come from). Audi gave me an estimate of £2,707 but the insurance has offered me only £1200 to cover it! Not even half
