I started Zealthy in October 2023. I don’t think this company is necessarily a complete scam, but a lot of annoying things added up over the months I used their service. I cancelled my membership with them in January 2024. My first month was discounted, which was great. What they don’t tell you is that they keep offering you “discounts” if you pay 3 months at a time in advance. This company requires a membership fee separate from the GLP-1 medication. My “care team” first tried to get prior authorizations for name brand drugs (Ozempic, Wegovy, then Saxenda) using my insurance. This took a week or more per request. I was able to log into my insurance to see whether or not I was approved immediately, it just took Zealthy 5+ days each time to tell me. For some reason, my care team did not offer compounded options right away even though I explicitly asked about them. I basically spent a month on a membership fee to get nothing done.
Here is a detailed list of my other issues:
• I was approved for Saxenda, but I didn’t realize it was a daily injection and not as effective as semaglutide. No one explained this to me beforehand
• I had multiple questions about interactions with meditations I’m taking, it took a while to get answers
• Pricing is very confusing - especially over text. Some places it says semaglutide as low as $130/month, some places it says $150/month. I still have no idea how this is even possible through this company. No one gives you a direct answer. The advertised price was different than what I was actually charged. Their renewal options are also unclear. I ended up paying $800 total for 3 months of semaglutide & membership. It wasn’t clear to me whether the cost would be increased when I got to the higher doses
• Chat functionality to communicate with them on their website is not that great. They have you download an “app” which is just a bookmark to their website. This is a bit misleading. Plus it’s not well engineered
• My “care team” was made up of seemingly random people and they only communicate via this chat messaging system, which felt very impersonal. I had multiple doctors and admin people chime in which was also a bit weird
• Text messages to notify me that I had chat responses on their site stopped working (which means I missed messages until I checked the website on my own)
• Chat says “expected wait time 2-3 days” for each message. It was frustrating to have to wait so long for responses
• My care team sent me multiple links that did not work. I’d tell them this and they would send me more broken links
• When the form to refill semaglutide worked, they asked me for more money at the end even though I paid ahead for 3 months. That made no sense if it was a refill form. I ended up having to contact the pharmacy directly. I don’t think I was supposed to do that but they were always nice and helpful
• Someone did answer when I called the listed phone number for Zealthy support, but they were unable to give shipping details for medication or any real information. They told me my monthly shipments would just come automatically (which they did not)
• Coaching was OK, but they just pointed you to the generic diet and exercise plans on the website (I didn’t need this)
• Tracking information for any medication was delayed before it showed up in my account and it never updated in my account when the shipment was received. You would think that this would work really well, but it did not
• The website is very buggy - many times it stuck on the loading screens
• i was told I would get a “pen injector” for compounded semaglutide, but that was not the case. They sent me a vial and syringes • No detailed instructions were given in the beginning on how to use insulin syringes. Eventually they had a video
• When the package arrived, it wasn’t packaged well for medication. It was a loosely sealed bag with an ice pack
• Overall this feels like start-up and very disorganized. They are not thinking about the customer’s experience
• I received a random message that said my account was cancelled. My care team told me to ignore this
• Unclear whether the compounded medication even worked. I have used Ozempic before and lost weight. I did not lose any weight with this company in 3 months, even though I watch what I eat and exercise daily
• Forgot to send the “included” oral medications, even after I reminded my care team
• The Pharmacy they use is Red Rock St. George. When I contacted them a few times for my last refill, they said, “we were making medication, this might be the vial we were missing.” This does not inspire confidence in the source of my medication
I decided after all of this to switch to a different company who has excellent ratings on TrustPilot. So far, they have been extremely professional and easy to communicate with. I will leave a review for this new company on TrustPilot in a few months!
