Purchased a ring in Feb 2024 and was presented to the recipient late March. Since wearing the ring it has developed deep scratches (hairline cracking?) in the metal and also has several chips in the silver. The ring is always removed when doing any task where it might be damaged.
my partner has been in email correspondence with the company for several days now and they are essentially refusing to fix/replace or refund the item. They have a lifetime warranty which covers manufacturer defects, poor workmanship and faulty metals however, since requesting a repair under warranty, they have said my issue doesn't fall within the warranty?
I believe that the emails from their customer service are just bot or AI replies which is why, despite quoting the Consumer Rights Act 2015, they seem to be unable to fathom that they are responsible for rectifying this and seemingly unable to offer a reasonable resolution.
I'm sorry but 2-3 months of light wear for a silver ring should not be showing the levels or wear and damage that it is doing - I'd be expecting these marks and damages for 5+ years of wear. How this item is meant to last a lifetime when it can't manage a few months is beyond me. The whole 'lifetime warranty' seems to be a farce also.
Avoid if you want a piece of quality jewellery and good customer service. I'll continue my battle...
