Disappointment and frustration - a happy memory with bitterness
I recently received a beautiful engagement ring from GLAMIRA, which initially made me very happy, first of all due to the important step in my life! But also due to its lovely design and the promise of a lifelong warranty for manufacturing defects. However, my experience has led to disappointment and frustration.
The ring was purchased some time before it was gifted to me and was unfortunately a bit too large. My boyfriend contacted GLAMIRA for resizing, a service they offer, but was informed of their policy that any changes or returns must be requested within 60 days. We understand that this is the company policy and he should have checked this detail earlier, it was an oversight on his part.
Unable to have the ring resized by the original company, we examined it carefully for any manufacturing defects, wanting to address these before taking the ring to another jeweler—something which would void the lifelong warranty. During our examination, we discovered a dent in the stone, which could only be a manufacturing defect. We reached out to GLAMIRA to request a repair, assuming they would honor their lifelong warranty as described on their website and on the certificates they have have offered with the ring.
Their response was disappointing: they refused to address the manufacturing defect, citing the expiration of the 60-day return/modification period. Despite their assurances of a lifelong warranty, it has become clear that the warranty is essentially just 60 days. This lack of support has stained what should be a happy memory with bitterness.
We are now seeking another jeweler to fix the defect GLAMIRA chose to ignore and to resize the ring. So, as a piece of advice, if you're considering purchasing a ring or other jewelry from GLAMIRA, I urge you to thoroughly check your items upon receipt. The so-called lifelong warranty turns out to be limited to just 60 days, leaving you to handle defects at your own expense if discovered later.
