I was absolutely livid to learn on the first day of the course that the course was virtual and I was not informed of it. We have booked this course through GlobalKnowledge company, as it's a set up and approved training supplier at Greencore. I have specifically stated that I want to do the course in London and the class should be instructor led. I was told that no courses are running in London in 2016 and one will be delivered in Stockport instead. When I got to the classroom on Monday morning, I learned that the course is actually running in London, and I will be sat in the room by myself all week! To make matters worse, another delegate was sat on his own in Nottingham training centre, which was only 25 minutes from my house, rather than a 2 hrs drive to Stockport! I am extremely disappointed about how this was all set up by Arrow/GlobalKnowledge, and the poor communication I have received from both companies. The course was due to start on the 24th of October and I only got a confirmation that I am definitely on it few days before (as the company reserves the right to cancel if not enough delegates are in the course). I had to contact GlobalKnowledge numerous times before the course start date and chase for joining instructions from them. If the course is led by Arrow, I don’t understand why Arrow can’t communicate with the delegates directly and keep them up to date with all the course details. Because of such poor administration and communication, I feel that the overall course experience was really ruined for me. I was really stressed to find out on Monday that I will be sat on my own in the room all week. I took the initiative to come and join another delegate in Nottingham on Tuesday, meaning an unnecessary 4-5hrs drive on Monday to/from Stockport. I still don’t think that virtual experience was as good as classroom based learning. The delegate in London didn’t have a microphone so we could hear what she was questions/comments she was making to the instructor, although Tarn has made an effort to repeat her the questions a lot of the times. Happy with course content, but very disappointed with overall experience.
