I second the opinion of many other wronged small businesses. GoCardless closed my account the day after it was 'verified', took unauthorised payments, and are yet to return my money. Australian customers, please note that GoCardless is likely non-compliant with Australian laws. They do not provide a PDS or similar statement, which is an offence under the Corporations Act 2001. They don't appear on AUSTRAC's register. And their 'office' is a virtual office whose receptionist has never heard of GoCardless. I recommend making a complaint with AFCA, as well as notifying ASIC for potential enforcement action.
