We a group of 8 ladies booked our 1st golfing holiday with Golf Holidays Direct to Alvor Portugal.
We booked and paid for 2x2 Bedroom Villas and 1x1 Bed villa. On arrival we were informed that only 2x2 Bedroom Villas had been booked despite us having confirmation that 2x2 Bedroom and 1x1 bedroom villa had been booked and paid for.
No other accommodation was available as villas and hotel were fully booked. We contacted Golf Direct and they apologised for their mistake but were unable to provide us with any other accommodation and we could fit into the 2 villas provided.
They offered us free buggies as compensation which we deemed unacceptable and rejected.
They informed us that they would look into the matter and discuss compensation on our return.
Once we returned and contacted them they apologised for the mistake they had made in booking only 2x2 Bedroom Villas and offered us £15 each. We rejected this offer saying that we just wanted a refund for the 1 bedroom villa we had booked and paid for and was not provided. They then offered us a £500 voucher to be used when booking with them in the future, which we also rejected. We just wanted a refund for the 1 bedroom villa.
We escalated the matter to the sales director who said after investing that there had been an administrative error when booking the villas but no refund was due and offered us £50 voucher for American golf.
Totally disgusted with response which was slow and arduous.
