Some reservations :language of instructions confusing : e g Pot is probably a saucepan; referring to the "gel" pieces and the instants together does not make the activating process very clear BUT once overcome they seem to work and an improvement to the eyes results. The experience of "gels"/ instants ( not that instant in my case) is that it helps to hold the gel to the light so that the metal disc can be discerned; to activate the heat precise clicking is needed. The whole process needs a lot of time time if 20 minutes of usage is followed by 35 minutes hard boiling and at least an hour while the gel pieces are not to be moved. After initial problems I am pleased to have found a process that does not require a micro wave
