I bought a bikini and a swimsuit for my daughter's birthday and the website said shipping would be free (I have a screenshot proving this). The purchase price was 189.75 euros. To my surprise, they charged me 82.25 euros for shipping costs, that is, a fee of 43.35% of the purchase value. I complained to the store asking for a refund of the shipping cost that should have been free and they told me that the shipping cost charged was actually import tax. This is not true, firstly because the product comes from Belgium, which is part of the EU, secondly, there are no taxes at the rate of 43.35% of the value of the merchandise and, finally, if it were a tax it would be classified as such and not such as maritime transport. Another trick they use is to give you a free box, which does nothing other than increase the shipping cost, since a swimsuit and a bikini weigh almost nothing and shipping, if it had to be charged, would be very low.
