These belts are minimalist for a respectable (some might consider premium) price. While that's not necessary bad, they are not a miracle problem solver either. Most traditional buckle belts I have owned costs around the same price, and are honestly easier to cinch up. I wear my pants on my hips and not my waist. I need a belt that can cinch pretty hard to keep them from slipping down. Most belts can do this when new, but as they age, materials stretch and deform. The Grip6 so far has not. The simple buckle doesn't have any pins or hinges to break or pull apart. The nylon is adjustable to any size, even as it (possibly) stretches a little over time... however, as it wears down a little, since I tend to cinch it to pretty much the same spot every time, it does develop some bends and groves that reduce grip a little and might lead to slippage. Time will tell. My biggest issue is the difficulty of actually cinching it up. The motion demonstrated and required to slide the nylon behind the buckle is cumbersome and usually requires me to pull it about 80% of the way and then I have to push the nylon in from the front to cinch it tighter. Basically the buckle itself and your belt loops get in your way tightening it up. I've watched the videos numerous times and it looks easy, and it is... if you aren't snugging it up tight. If your goal is just getting the belt on, it's fine. But as you go tighter, there is a certain point where you have to lay the buckle down flat against your pants to finish snugging it. At that point you can't operate it like the videos anymore. Overall it isn't a bad belt. The nylon is thick and strong. The buckle is strong and shouldn't ever deform. I don't mind what I paid, but due to the frustration operating it, the only justification of the pricing for me is in the possible longevity of the materials. Almost every traditional belt I have owned makes it at least six months to a year before showing signs of wear. I feel this belt will outlast them at least. (no reversible color hinges to wear out, etc.) I don't regret buying them, but I do hope over time I either find some magic technique to tighten it more easily, or just accept the annoyance due to the long lifespan of the materials.
