Royal Park Condo
In total, they made 4 appointments and missed them all. The salesman lied to me. As I was putting pen to paper to sign, I asked very directly, "So, I pay this figure here, and that's all? I have no additional costs?" His reply was, "You will pay a plumber to reconnect the faucet and sink." He avoiding pointing out the fine print where that $200 tear-down fee was a separate charge not included in the price. The tear-down technician damaged my drywall but wasn't man enough to fess up. I didn't notice it until the next day. He shocked me when he finished the job and said, "You owe me $200." That's when I learned about the fine print. So, I wrote an extra check, but that was no good because I made it out to the company. I had to write another check with tear-down man's name on it. In his hurry, he left a tool behind. I called immediately, but he didn't bother to turn around to get it. Of course he didn't. He was rushing to his next 45-minute job to get his next $200 check. The next day when I found the damage and called to ask the company to make it good, it was made very clear they weren't going to do anything for me -- because "they" hadn't done that work, the tear-down guy had. The installers spoke no English (or Spanish for that matter). The installation had several small gaps and minor irregularities. These are not "terrible", but after spending $2200, I should have been delighted with every inch of my new counter tops. Instead, I found myself working out where to place the toaster and the blender to hide the most visible flaws. BTW, these counter tops were nowhere near "half price." The actual savings over a local competitor was closer to 15-percent. They should change their name. I later found many negative reviews online. I also missed the "D-minus" score with the Better Business Bureau. My fault entirely! I fell for the hard sell. I thought I was saving money and I left my skepticism at the door. After some of those negative reviews, in the "owner comments" are syrupy expressions of how sorry he was to hear of a problem. Crocodile tears; he's sorry to see another negative review getting published. Bottom-line: this company works on speed and volume. There is some potential to save, and the work is done fast. BUT -- when things go wrong, you're stuck with whatever you get. They're not gonna make it right. In the end, I have a "B-minus" counter job and insulted dignity -- all for a savings of about $400. Wait, that's $400 minus the expense of fixing the damage. I guess you really do get what you pay for. You know, had the salesman and the tear-down man just been honest with me... and if the customer support guy had only pretended to be sympathetic... I could have given 2 or maybe even 3 stars to rate the counter tops themselves. Lying weasels!
