HALFORDS AT RUNCORN.
Booked offer,(214.99p) on full MOT/ Service, am old age pensioner, phone call to say rear tyre needs replacing! bought 4 tyres 2 years ago, less than 5000 miles on them, they say well umm, bulge in the side of wall I must have hit something,(cost £62.99p), have not had a problem of any kind with this tyre, they said you are unable to see it. Bulb on right headlight needs replacing, told them was replaced a few weeks ago at cost of £20 at local Halfords shop! they then said wouldn't charge for that!(cost £26.45p), however they have) within a few hours rang to say reverse light not working strange as I reverse out of drive on regular basis, my children or someone would have told me, re; Safety! no one has said anything about this, went on to say Oh, afraid not the bulb because is the sensor switch!(cost £75.66p),(fault can be intermittent) told advisory, sorry I do not believe a word any of above, I truly believe Halfords are just trying to rip customers off to pay for your wages, easy money preying off people whom rely on your honesty to maintain their vehicles, to remain safe on the roads.
Total Cost- £380.09
Several phone calls throughout the day, initial ring then would cut off after 2 rings on 3 occasions, I had to ring back each time. when they were ringing me re; advisory? no tyre if at all that day car may have to be kept overnight, sensor part? (more tactics)
I have not requested the bulb charge back as am far too upset to confront them, so all in all my headlight bulb replaced twice within a month has cost me £46.45P. extortionate!, unnecessary, as this could have been checked on the email data bulb was initially replaced at Halfords shop!
I will now ensure friends and family are aware of the way Halfords obtain business, how it works, certainly well trained tactics for salesmen.
How to rip off customers while preying on the vulnerable, due to the fact no-one wants to drive a faulty car. OUR SAFETY IS IN THEIR HANDS.
I have now been provided local business's who are reliable, trustworthy and competent within their trade, not corporate business as above.
I am in the process of appealing refers, as stated at www.gov.uk/getting-an-mot
