The driver first drove to an incorrect location. This made me uneasy as a woman travelling alone in a foreign country. When I pointed out it was the wrong location the driver began to scream and yell at me, which furthered my uneasiness. The driver then took me to a second incorrect location. When I indicated that it too was the wrong location the driver screamed and yelled at me some more, saying he would not drive me anywhere else unless I paid more.
When we finally arrived at the correct location he refused to let me take my personal belongings out of the vehicle until I paid him. I did not have any cash on me as I understood from heathrowtaxi.net that there are no extra charges, nor did I have internet access for doing an etransfer. The driver continued to yell and scream at me and tried to make me use his phone for an etransfer, to which I kept saying no because using someone else’s phone is not a safe nor a secure payment method. The driver got on the phone with the company and kept telling me to listen to them, which I was unable to do as I have a hearing impairment. I felt unsafe, as I was alone with this driver yelling at me and I was unable to call anyone for help.
I don’t know what happened in the phone conversation between the driver and the company but the driver finally let me have my personal belongings and drove away. Then I received an email demanding I pay £20 and claiming I made changes to my destination, when it was the driver going to the wrong location which caused those changes. The overall experience was appalling – rude and unprofessional service conducted at the expense of the customer’s sense of safety and well-being.
