Where to start with these “specialists”……
After one of our company vans had a fault we took it to a local garage for some electrical diagnostics checks, after one hour we where advised it was a possible ECU fault but as they where not Renault specialists, to take it to Hendy as they are. Hendy advised their diagnostics charge is £216 an hour and if it’s an ECU fault they could find it no problem. It took 5 days and countless emails and phone calls from our office staff to get an update, as we urgently needed our work horse back on the road. Hendy finally came back advising after 2 hours of diagnostics from their “master technician” costing £432, it could be an ECU but they needed an additional 5 hours of diagnostics to confirm this and if it was the ECU they couldn’t get hold of one for a number of weeks with no fixed date. As you can imagine it was awfully disappointing being advised they couldn’t get the part we advised them it could be. It would have been nice to be advised by a main dealer on parts shortages when booking in.
So after finally hearing back from the manager which took a further 3 day, so 8 days after receiving our van, we arranged collection to another local garage, as we had lost all trust in Hendy. The local garage found the fault within 15 minutes and a 15 pence fuse later our van was back on the road making our business money.
I’d advise anyone to stay away from these jokers! They clearly have no clue what they are doing with horrendous prices and even worse customer service, I’m surprised this franchise is still open!
