I was interviewing for an Account Manager for a very conservative, pharmaceutical advertising agency. I found a candidate with a lot of media experience who was dying to break into the pharmaceutical industry and this was her big chance. My client agreed to an interview time and the candidate was pumped with excitement about the opportunity. Then I got the phone call from my client. “Did you run a background check?” “Oh No!” I thought… “this isn’t good news”.
