The RF-Pro smoke/heat and control unit alarms I purchased was an alternative to my first choice of FireAngel because FireAngel could not manufacture their similar products due to chip shortages. I was a bit concerned as I could not find any reviews which would indicate their quality or performance. The alarms were supplied by Safelincs ltd a well known distributer of fire alarms and equipment. The alarms proved tricky to set up and pair because unless you know exactly the length pf time to press the pair button on the master control unit it will not pair the alarms. A call to Hispec and a email giving advice on how to pair and do a factory reset resolved the problem. All units now paired and installed and working with a successful test, so it will be now down to see how they perform and how reliable they will be, however a 5 year guarantee gives some encouragement. They are a bit fragile to install, but are very small and unobtrusive when installed. My advice to anyone buying these products would be to read the instructions very carefully and if in doubt get in touch with Hispec or Safelincs if you purchase from them. All this work was to comply with the latest Scottish Regulations on domestic alarm installations which come into force on the 1st February 2022.
