I booked a car through HolidayAutos, and they offered me a VW Golf through Avis at a price less than Avis were charging. I'd asked for an automatic, and this appeared on the booking details.
I noticed that Avis can't actually guarantee an automatic, so I expected that I'd arrive at the desk and only get one if I was lucky.
The real issue was their website. I forgot my password, and when I followed the instructions for resetting, it said it would send a reset link to my email address. I tried three times over a few days and never received it (yes, i typed my email address correctly, yes I checked my spam folder). When I contacted the help chat facility they said "we only deal with car reservations enquiries". When I phoned, I got the same, so I have no way of getting in.
That's what led me to look at online reviews of Holiday Autos and seeing how bad they were, decided to cancel the whole thing. Fingers crossed I get my refund!
