Left a review on here last year in relation to an order me and my partner made to furnish our bedroom, over £4000. Only now has everything been delivered. We have had many downs with the company in relation to broken wardrobes being delivered twice, stain on new mattress. Drivers not wearing boot protectors and getting mud on our new carpet, plus many more issues which in all honesty, have not got the time or patience to write. HD did give us £60 as a good will gesture for the mud on the carpet and in relation to the broken wardrobes they did exchange to the larger wardrobe at no extra cost however there were issues in relation to this. So in that respect they have been good. However the first time the larger wardrobe was delivered there was a mark on the wardrobe and the second time it was delivered the detailing on the wardrobe was broken and then on another occasion, HD only sent one wardrobe instead of two. Issues also included a mirror which we decided we simply did not want due to its size. We phone HD the following day after delivery which HD refusing to take the mirror back as it did not have its original packaging, keeping in mind for us to see the mirror we had to take it out of its original packaging. After contacting trading standards, what HD was telling us was nonsense and they had to accept it back which the reluctantly did. However what I am upset about more than anything (not including the 10+ days I’ve taken off work for these deliveries and lost days of work, only for the item to be faulty or damaged) - is that we had a dressing table delivered and what I didn’t realise is where the mirror sits on the dressing table, there is no hook to secure the mirror to the dressing table. I contacted HD as the mirror bumped into the wall and because it is not secure, the glass has broken. Asked if they could help, keeping in mind how much money we have lost - only to be bluntly told they can’t help. Asked if we could order the mirror to which they said they don’t sell separately. So I’m now stuck with a broken mirror. Overall, whilst HD have been good in a couple of aspects, it really has not been good enough. I would not buy from them again. Also a sore point, you can’t store any items on the chest of drawers or dressing table as it marks the wood (or whatever it is). So now we are trying to buy doilies to try and protect the tops of the furniture from further marks. Very bad experience and not a company I would recommend.
