We stayed Burnsyde Beach Cottage in Saltburn, lovely well positioned with great views. Lots of room with a large sitting room and conservatory to watch the surfers. However really difficult to find, it’s directly behind Tomahawk restaurant, concealed driveway so take it slow and you’ll see it. No lighting around the perimeter of the house, so dangerous when returning back in the dark and rain, so much so I fell badly damaging my leg and arm. I don’t appreciate being forced to take insurance out especially when it costs me £10 to have £250 held until proof of no damage (I understand the £250 deposit being held but not the £10 charge) I feel I am just contributing to paying this houses insurance! This will definitely deter me from booking in an host and stay property in the future. This cottage was very expensive in my opinion and I would have expected a welcome hamper with at least the basics (salt and pepper) but nothing which was very disappointing.
