Directions for hanging were not followed by us, we liked that there was a grove on the frame and that is where we chose to have our screw heads grasp. That worked out perfect, but I don't believe the way the directions gave would have, because we thought it could puncture through the canvas. We ordered 2 canvas pictures, one we took and another which was complete already, we only received hardware for one of the them, which wasn't a big deal as they were only two screws which we have plenty of. Made a beautiful change to the room, quality pieces.
