My adult niece has her CDAC license. She has been "clean" for just over 12 years. She is in charge of a facility, that she once recovered at. She explains to me that it is still a daily challenge to not use again. Since she has been temporarily living with me, I've gotten to know her more. I bought her a canvas entitled "Darkest Days" about a month ago. It was meant to be a Christmas gift. One night, she came home unusually quiet and recluse. Work was stressful. Even though I did not know what was wrong with her, my intuition told me that NOW was the right time to give her this gift. She quietly opened it and glanced at me with tears. She said this was perfect for the kind of day that she had. She even posted her appreciation for it and for me giving it to her, at that moment.
