We purchased a kitchen in November, to be delivered in December before the holidays. I specifically asked if having it delivered that close to Christmas would be a problem, and they assured me it wouldn't be. So we settled on a date of December 23rd, when we could be home to receive the order. I got an email with confirmation that it was being shipped, and a second saying my delivery window was between 12-4 pm. So far so good. Then...
4:45 rolls around and still no word on the delivery, so I call Ikea, and spend 51 minutes on the phone trying to find out where my kitchen is. They inform me that because of the crazy holiday traffic, the truck is delayed, and will give me a call when they're ten minutes out. I'm upset, but at least find comfort in the fact they'll be here soon. Then...
8 pm becomes 9 pm, and then 10 pm... and they clearly aren't coming. SO I call Ikea again on Saturday, spend another 30 minutes on the phone with them, to be told the shipment was "delayed" and I would need to reschedule. So a day after my order didn't arrive, my order is now scheduled to be here on Thursday the 28th. No word from Ikea OR the delivery company about my original missed delivery, this was all information I had to seek out on my own.
I'm currently on hold with the delivery company to find out WHY it wasn't delivered, and they told me "well it says it was changed to Thursday the 28th." Which is correct, but only because NO ONE ARRIVED ON SATURDAY TO DELIVER MY ORDER. This whole process has been a joke, and I wouldn't recommend Ikea Home Delivery Service to anyone. Avoid it at all costs.
