Contracted with IntegrateSun LLC on 1/4/24 to install solar panels on my home. Paid 30% deposit of the quote. About four weeks after contract execution IntegrateSun raised issue that Sam Houston Electric required $1M liability insurance. Even though IntegrateSun did not inform me prior to execution of the contract of this requirement, I attempted to secure this type policy with my current insurance carrier, but they would not write a policy for this amount. I would have had to secure an individual policy which is cost prohibitive. Contract with IntegrateSun had a no refund policy for 30% deposit regardless of outcome. Attempted to convert contract with IntegrateSun to provide a backup generator, but IntegrateSun provided false information about ability to do this, stating requirements from the electric company were identical to solar panel installation. Two weeks later IntegrateSun offered to convert the project for a cost that was $3K higher than nearest competitor. Because this company has been in business for 13 years I would have expected them to have been aware of this require prior to executing this contract and informing me up front.
It appeared to me that this was a shell company that utilize contractors and temporary employees/resources. It became apparent that depth of experience was missing after the initial engagement.
