Wow, 5 watts and these lights are much brighter than the 40 watt bulbs they replaced. I know we should all be fitting energy efficient bulbs but when just one goes in a set then the tendency is to replace it like for like. However the difference that these bulbs has made, I wish I'd done it years ago. I will certainly be looking at replacing the rest of our bulbs now, yes they are more expensive than old fashioned or halogen but the performance is outstanding and if they last as long as stated they be more than worth it - perhaps I'll add to this comment in 10 years time which is about how long I reckon they will last.
