Got confirmation of the order and my account was debited. The basics are fine. It was a gift subscription and the recipients Christian name 'Iain' was misspelled 'Eain' - probably my fault in trying to spell it out on the telephone.
As it is a gift subscription near Christmas it would have been nice to have a confirmation that could be sent to the recipient, as does the Spectator when ordering direct online or the National Geographic who produce a gift card
