A golden wedding treat so a bit more expensive than we might perhaps usually buy. Although the flights were 'no frills' all went smoothly and we were met by a lovely lady with a showroom Mercedes which she drove with great skill to the excellent hotel in the centre of Verona old town. Hotel and staff were of the best. Seats at the opera were excellent and the performance out of this world. We spent 101 euros each for slightly cheaper seats for the following night but these were very uncomfortable although the opera was again stunning. A trip to lake Como completed our visit on the final full day, an easy journey by train and ferry. Journey home reflected the outward journey in punctuality. Only complaint was the airport; it really is time for expansion and upgrade. All staff at Weekend Short Breaks were lovely to deal with. Hotel staff could not have been more helpful. A great holiday and one that we will always remember.
