Having been served wine from a similar glass at a restaurant in Valladolid, I was looking out for some to buy. Having only tried one wine (a very good Ribero del Duero) I was a little sceptical about how much difference the glass could make. However, even I could detect aromas and flavours which had been hitherto less distinct. The Syrah with no label, made by a winemaker friend, was spectacular but a bottle from a mystery donor was very basic in comparison. A Rueda matured in Sherry barrels was also incredible providing a suitable christening for my glasses. Be aware, these glasses highlight the good and the not so good. I was reminded that life is too short to drink poor wine!
