Designed. Lighter than a glass should be. You pause when you pick them up. The design makes you think about the wine inside the glass. You want each element to do justice to the other. It’s a lovely thing to find wonderful design, wood, glass, stone all benefit from the extra thought of the artist, designer or maker. But when that’s so clearly communicated when you use or touch the item, that elevates the item to a classic.
