Being Australian and on tier 2 visas puts us in a special category that requires expertise that the other mortgage brokers couldn’t deliver on. Also, other firms were rare to even cater to foreign buyers (as it can require much more knowledge and commitment) and would return with ridiculous offers. Going direct through banks also became so convaluted, regardless if you tick all the boxes and the time/cost required was unacheivable, particularly as this was our first mortgage.
