Cheerful engineer Ben, GF 124 who diagnosed and explained the problem, checking the battery was really the problem, not just down to something had been left switched on. Replaced the battery at a reasonable cost of £68 with three year guarantee - car back up and running. Whole visit only took him about 1/2 an hour.
