Just purchased a 2nd set of strips. Blew through the 1st set trying to establish baselines. Hopefully they're giving true readings, but how would you know if they're not accurate. Similar to my WellUe sleep watch, it tells me I had a sleep score of 9.5 out of 10, but how do I know if it's actually giving me a true reading, it can tell me anything it wants to. I don't have a control set of data to match the data against. The GK reader seems real good on glucose. The ketone measurements I think are low and lagging, but it's just my 2 sense. Trying to still measure how I'm feeling in relation to ketosis versus the reader telling me I'm really not. My measurements of ketones has become an obsession versus just exercising and ignoring. Experts say you'd need to reach a level of 8 to be in ketoacidosis and the closest I've come is 3 after an 84 hour fast.
Jury is still out on the usefulness versus the expense.
