Lenwells: Luton I viewed the property with Abbey, who was very professional and helpful. Later on I also dealt with Richard, Malik, Jasmine and Tamara - who were all very polite and professional. The start of the rental had a few hiccups; inventory wasn't as it was sent to me, and when I sent photos and corrections this was never updated so upon checkout, caused issues. There was no tenant's insurance advertised in the advert nor was I told about it at any point and I sent emails confirming what I needed to pay inc deposit beforehand - still it wasn't mentioned. After I paid deposit I was given paperwork saying I had to get tenant's insurance. This was not advertised and therefore I contested it - I was then told it was not mandatory! Newcomers beware on this, extras that are not advertised or told about in the beginning should be raised as it is mis-advertising and misleading information. The agency they used to credit check me (Lettings Hub) were non responsive and then later on kept bugging me to take out insurances I did not need. After pleading with them to remove me from their database under GDPR 'right to be forgotten', and getting nowhere I ended up reporting them to the Information Commissioners Office, then the harassment finally stopped. In the actual letting there were a few minor issues, which when contact was made with Lenwell were dealt with, but pressure had to be put on sometimes. Abbey, Richard and Malik were polite and professional at all times - even in times when I wasn't 'calm' about the situation! There was an antisocial issue that was never dealt with correctly and I had to escalate to the council. Jasmine was dealing with this for me however not much was done and it continued. I did end up getting quite fed up at times and decided not to continue once the minimum term had ended. The area itself was lovely and neighbours friendly. All in all, they did the best they could but some things like upholding the law could have been improved. Check-out (with Tamara) was pretty straightforward and deposit was returned in good time. LL admin fees - def too much for the admin that is done behind it. Lettings hub credit checking agency used - rubbish! Could have done the checks themselves and saved the hassle and time wasted!
