all the lights were delivered in tact. tried ea light to be sure that the bulb worked then put them away, except one, till next Christmas. the one kept out i put the batteries in to see if (1) light did come on and off at the hour set - and so far it has and (2) to see how long a set of batteries lasted. so far i am into the second week. thought the base would be a little heavier but have had no problem with the one staying on the shelf. would recommend
