After reading their article titled "Your LED Light May Be Flickering Without Your Knowing It (But You Can Fix the Issue)", I purchased two bulbs that claimed to provide "Completely stroboscopic fluctuation flicker-free light output".
As the company have gone out of their way to write an article on light flicker, and have added an icon to all of their "flicker free lights", I thought it would be worth the investment.
Today the lights arrived, and while they look good to the eye, the flicker is significantly worse than the light I previously used when recording on my phone (video attached, the flickering bulb on the right was purchased from LiquidLEDs). This is a big disappointment given LiquidLEDs claims about their product.
I don't usually write bad reviews, but what unfolded next is beyond belief. Here's a simplified summary of how the discussion with the chat agent went:
-They informed me that they're only flicker free when you stand 50cm away from the bulb (note: their article & product descriptions don't make any mention of this)
-They sent me videos of the same bulb not flickering
-I sent them videos of the bulb flickering, compared it to another bulb that doesn't (video attached).
-They claimed my camera (an iPhone 12) was "very sensitive"
Consumers need to be able to trust companies that make claims that are difficult to verify (eg flicker you can't see).
Unless LiquidLEDs are able to address my concerns, i'll be referring the matter to the regulator (ACCC).
